Springbank 16 YO Rum Wood 54.2%
Distilled June 1991, bottled August 2007
eight years in Refill Bourbon / 8 years in Fresh Rum
5100 bottles, bottled 20.09.2007
Color: white wine, a faint green tea
Nose: complex, chocolate, sweet fruit, honey, lemon, orange. Sea salt and juicy green apple.
Body: average density
Taste: surprisingly mild, despite a degree (!) - lime juice, light rum influence in the interpretation of burnt cane sugar, shades of the field herbs, raisins. Somewhere very far away a little bit of smoke and spices. With the second wave of taste comes more dense presence of Rum, but all together looks very harmonious and balanced.
Finish: long, rolling, with a red pepper
Perhaps, this release from Springbank-best thing was to try lately. Beautiful and well-balanced malt, very easy drinking, yet another successful version on the theme "Wood Finish". Importantly, do not add water - first, she'd completely to anything, and secondly - get sharper tone and disjointed on the palate.
Another great Springbank - 92 points
